At Community Disability & Care (CDC), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines how we handle your personal and sensitive information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

  • Your NDIS plan details and goals.
  • Health information and support needs.
  • Information about your family, carers, or legal guardians.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly to:

  • Plan and deliver your NDIS supports.
  • Communicate with the NDIA or your Plan Manager regarding funding.
  • Ensure your safety and well-being.
  • Meet our legal and regulatory reporting obligations.

3. Disclosure of Information

We only share your information with third parties (such as other health providers or government agencies) when:

  • You have given us explicit consent.
  • It is required to deliver the services in your Support Plan.
  • It is required by law (e.g., to prevent serious harm).

We never sell your information or use it for third-party marketing.

4. Data Security

Your information is stored securely in encrypted digital systems and/or locked physical files. We take all reasonable steps to protect your data from misuse, interference, loss, or unauthorised access.

5. Retention and Disposal

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide your supports and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. When it is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or de-identified.

6. Data Breach Response

In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will act in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

7. Access and Correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate.
